I think they just warn you to try and prevent people who are total idiots from messing up their cameras. (even for those uncomfortable or unfamiliar with Magic Lantern) If you follow the directions, there is no danger. It is just about impossible to brick your camera. I agree with you that it's probably not worth it if you're uncomfortable/unfamiliar with the process. Yes, I guess there's always some danger that comes from installing aftermarket software. Check their website and browse their forums, tons of help there for new users.Īs in certain cults it is possible to kill a process if you know its true name. There are warnings that it can brick your camera but you should be okay if you know how to properly format a card, follow instructions and have relatively good common sense. Overall though, I like all the added features (some of which I've only began to scratch the surface on).

It definitely is better than trying to set up HDR with my camera, but sometimes it simply doesn't work so I've gone back to shooting in plain RAW. One thing I will say is that I stopped using DualISO. To me, the added features are a huge plus (motion detect and the intervalometer alone are worth it IMO). It hasn't happened often enough to be annoying or for me to consider ML 'buggy'.

I've had a few freezing issues that are resolved by turning the camera on/off. I've got it installed on my 600D and three spare SD cards.
